NEW: Minister for Health appoints new members to the Health Research Consent Declaration Committee

The Minister for Health, Mr. Stephen Donnelly has appointed four new members to the Health Research Consent Declaration Committee to add to the existing Committee. The new members are:

Dr. Cornelias Cooney, Consultant Anaesthetist

Dr. Barry Lyons, Anaesthesia & Critical Care Medicine, Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin

Dr. Mary Tumelty, Lecturer in the School of Law, University College Cork.

Mr. John Woods, Data Protection Officer, St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services,

Welcoming the new members to the HRCDC, Ms Brigid McManus, Chairperson, says:

The HRCDC warmly welcomes its newest members, whose wide-ranging expertise will complement the existing broad base of membership. As Chair, I look forward to working with the newly appointed members in the coming year and continuing the important work of the Committee which helps foster public confidence in health research in Ireland.
