Retirement of Ms Brigid McManus, HRCDC Chairperson

We announce that Ms Brigid McManus will be stepping down from her role as Chair of the HRCDC.

The HRCDC was established in 2019 and under the leadership of its inaugural chair, Brigid, the foundational processes and operations of the committee were created — setting the stage for a transparent, collaborative, and effective structure that continues to guide our work today.

Since assuming the role in 2019, Brigid has led the committee with dedication, thoughtfulness, and integrity. She has played a pivotal role in refining our procedures, strengthening our operations, and ensuring that the work of the committee continues to focus on ensuring health and social care research data protection safeguards are balanced with the public interest in such research.

Brigid leaves a lasting legacy, and we are deeply grateful for the steady leadership and tireless service provided throughout her tenure.  We wish her well in any future endeavours.
